 Foley Sounds 

Foley sounds are the production and recording of sound effect these include sounds such as breaking glass, stepping on leaves, creaking glass. These sounds are used  to enhance realism. For wild tracks the background will blend in to the scene like crowded street, school or busy restaurant. They are known as off-screen sounds because it is sound recorded after the footage. 

Theme Music For The Sequence 

The Theme music that is played in the beginning is a sound  and the end of a show or movie. Most of the time they would have music for people to remember and quickly catch it so they can recognise it if its played again.

Film Score

A Film score is  music that is specifically written for a certain  type of show or movie and timed at the begin and end of the scene. Film score would add more emotion and drama to the scene.

Character's signature tune

A Character's signature tune is where there is a character in film and there is a type of music that plays indicating that the character is here. Like the prowler in spider verse there's always this loud eerie music that would play anytime he would appear.

Incidental music

incidental music is when there is music used in a film or play as a background and what that would do is create or enhance an atmosphere in that particular scene.

Voice over

voice over is a production technique where a voice is recorded off screen. Voice overs are usually used to tell stories or using it for a cartoon character that's talking. Voice overs create more meaning and would make the film or show less boring.

Scripted Speech

Scripted speech is prepared and written down in advance. They are used to give the actors a clear idea on what they need to say and help them in the process.

U14, P1: To compare presentation of the programme

 The cast in death by conspiracy includes only the producer and the editor , the producer is called "Ant Adeane" and the editors name is Mike wendling. in the radio show "Uncanny" the cast is written and presented by Danny Robins. The editor and sound designer is Charlie Brandon King. Their music that they have playing in the background is created by Evelyn Sykes, the theme tunes were by lanterns on the lake and this whole drama was produced by Danny robins and Simon Barnard.

The mode of address for uncanny in my opinions more informal as they were talking to the audience as if they knew the audience as they speak very casually to the other person who is asking him questions and theres more discussing that happens.However in death by conspiracy it is more of a documentary type of show while uncanny is more of a podcast.

For the tone I think that uncanny is more scarier and creates a suspenseful tone as he is telling the audience ghost stories as he explains what happens to him, the sound effects make the background seem very tense. Death by conspiracy does not give off the same spooky vibes and atmosphere as uncanny does even though they're topic is related to Gary Mathews and his life when he was alive , it is still intriguing and The only suspenseful atmosphere was the ringing sound in the beginning. uncanny the dialect is not formal but not informal its sort of in the middle as death by conspiracy is much more formal from the way they speak.

With uncanny it could possibly lead to people questioning how the drama was set up and how they made the audience question the radio show especially when theres something happening in the scene and the music gets louder each time and this leads the audience to question what is happening or what will end up happening. With death by conspiracy yet say that Gary Mathews was a nice and smart guy so they don't really understand why he had all those conspiracies as well as the ones that weren't even true and this can lead to the audience to question on why Gary was interested in these conspiracies when he had absolutely no reason to be at all. the stereotypes for uncanny are ghosts and spirits and how they would be like an evil atmosphere around and actually not being able to see it but they can feel that negative energy around them. Death by conspiracy are the conspiracies and how it is just people that are overthinking or trying to find something else that here could be.

U14, P1 : Differences between types of programmes

Talk Music

Capital FM has small talk introduction where they introduce the artist and what song will be played , they also add a little bit of humour making sure the audience doesn't get bored and think that theyre talking for too long. The songs/music are played to keep the audience entertained while they are working or driving to go to work. This is the type of programme that is very extraordinary as the audience are able to listen to music without having to create a playlist as the radio will play different types of songs, usually mainstream/popular songs to be played.

Sport

BBC sport live 5 track and field always have a sports spoken talk for people who are doing the sport that they talk about and would want to have a podcast interview as it will be their way of talking to each other. they also speak about how Louise Hazel would be defending her title and speaks about why she chose sports and why she did what she did. The audience will always have someone who is interested in female sports who would want to know about it more and find out about her personal stories. this programme is very interesting as it talks about all the different types of sports and because its a majority of women who are playing these sports.

Current Events

On BBC news they speak about the current events that are happening around the world making sure that everyone is aware of what is going on, for example on BBC news they have put up information about Russia invading Ukraine and are firing bombs which is leading to the cause of peoples homes being destroyed. This is a unique programme as it allows everyone around the world to keep up with what is going on and any important information making sure that everyone is aware and it also lets the audience know any small details that could be very important.

Lifestyle 

Money box is an app which helps people to see how much they have spent on whatever they choose to do with their money. This basically shows them a transaction of everything that they spend. Money box also allows the users to see the amount of money that they have in their account as well as seeing the amount they have in their savings account if one has been created. This app is very helpful as it shows the user how much money they have taken out and how much they have put in .This is usually for those who are working or have a lot of money and are figuring a way to manage it all.

Dramatizations 

BBC radio 4 has a lot of dramas and one I'm familiar with is called uncanny and death by conspiracy and they are about a man called Gary Mathews and he's into conspiracy theories till he died from getting covid. in this drama they speak about Garys life before he had passed away and the things that he did.This is a unique type of drama as it intrigues the audience and gets them interested as this is something quite new to them
